Because the commander of the Garmisch volunteer fire brigade was able to welcome his firefighters to a face-to-face event in the Bayernhalle again this year - albeit in a slightly slimmed-down form, because, as in normal times, the representatives of the neighboring fire brigades were missing.
On the other hand, Gröbl – he had stood up again for the post of first commander in the upcoming elections to the board of directors and board of directors and the command of the military – was confirmed in office for the next six years by an overwhelming majority of the 86 eligible voters.
His young opponent could only unite ten votes.
"Today people are elected, but basically it's about the fire department," emphasized Gröbl before the election.
For his report, due to corona, he had a huge paper packet for the years 2020 and 2021 on the lectern, the content of which was followed with interest by active, passive and political representatives.
"Today we would like to say thank you to all members for the service they have provided, the cohesion, the great understanding of the restrictions and the discipline they have shown," emphasized Gröbl.
"Despite everything, there was a lot of work to be done, and we also successfully organized a few urgently needed exercises and training courses.
The community is fully behind us and makes our procurement possible.”

A new swap body vehicle could be purchased, together with the roll-off container (AB water/foam), a battery-powered rescue kit and a new trailer for the oil defence.
Not only the top of the market, but also the regulatory office appreciated Gröbl for the good cooperation, especially with regard to the G7 measures.
This major event is already clearly casting its shadow.
The Garmisch Wehre will benefit from this with a new personnel carrier that should have come later.
As a further asset, Gröbl rated the digital alarm system, which has now found its way and is gradually being issued to all active people.
The commander went into particular detail on a few large-scale operations.
For example, the crane truck (KW) and AB respiratory protection were requested for a major fire in April 2020 in Murnau.
Here, the KW with its rescue cage proved to be the ideal firefighter.
The crane truck of the Garmisch Weir was also used in another incident, in which a truck tipped over onto a car at the Ammergau tunnel portal - but only after a follow-up alarm.
"Valuable time wasted securing the truck for the rescue," explained Gröbl, who was able to assert that in the future the crane truck could be deployed at the same time in the event of such accidents.
"In summary, there were 571 missions in 2020/21, not a little, because we were also in lockdown for a long time."
In his speech, the First Chairman, Frank Richling, underlined "the good cooperation with the Command during the last term of office".
I'm also looking forward to working with the new board of directors in the future," said the newly promoted fire chief.
The last act was the church blessing of the new trailer by Pastor Josef Konitzer and the official handover of the keys by the second mayor, Claudia Zolk.
She also had a special present in her luggage in the form of a check for the fire brigade association.
