Has evidence been found that dinosaurs became extinct by an asteroid? | Israel today

Researchers have located dinosaur remains that they claim prove how extinct • Prof. Paul Barrett: "The remains found appear to be the result of an extreme event in which the animal died quickly"

Were there, for the first time in the world, the remains of a dinosaur that died as a result of being hit by the giant asteroid that wiped them out?

That is, an impact of the shock waves created after the impact of the large asteroid, 12 kilometers long, in the region of Mexico.

This is a claim that is supported by quite a few but controversial facts, which is claimed by researchers who worked on the site of the fossilized findings of tennis in North Dakota.

It is the leg of a dinosaur, which was torn from its entire body, while also being preserved with the skin on it.

There is also a fossil turtle impaled on a wooden peg, small mammals, skin of Triceratops and a rare find of a fetus inside a pterosaur egg.

This along with fossils of fish and marine animals.

Apparently all the fossils were gathered together due to the shock waves and earthquakes that occurred after the asteroid's huge impact on the earth.

"You can actually see the process of the impact and the material falling from the sky and the shock waves, which were in place like in a step-by-step film," said researcher Robert Deflama, of the University of Manchester, UK, who is leading the excavation at the site.

One of the reasons researchers believe terrestrial animals were hit just 66 million years ago, on the day the asteroid hit Earth, is substances found in the fossilized fish gills of the place.

These are molten material particles that rose during the event and re-dropped to Earth to the lakes where the fish were eventually thrown to the site.

In fact, two of these particles contained remnants of extraterrestrial material, which further indicates that at least the fish, and according to the researchers, the other dinosaurs at the site, died on the day of the damage itself in the vicinity of the event.

Professor Phil Manning, who supervised the University of Manchester researcher at the University of Manchester, and who wrote the article on recent discoveries at the site, said: "We were able to test the chemistry of the remains of the substances stuck in the fish gills. "Part of the giant asteroid that hit Earth and ended the time of the dinosaurs."

The leg of the dinosaur found at the site belongs to the Tskilosaurus dinosaur.

In this regard, dinosaur expert Prof Paul Barrett of the Royal Museum of Natural History in London says that "this is a hysterical scientific discovery because it is the leg of a group of dinosaurs that we did not have a sample of their skin before. It also shows that like this species Meat eaters from their time.

"Either way it seems the leg was quickly torn off not by a bite or disease, there is no sign of any problem. So the best hypothesis is that the leg was simply torn off in an extreme event where the animal dies quickly," he said.

Prof. Steve Brusta of the University of Edinburgh is still skeptical about the findings.

"The fish did die from the injury itself, but as for the leg I still want to see more findings. There was terrible chaos and the dinosaur may have died earlier and become fossilized and flown by earthquakes so it is together with material that fell from the sky when the asteroid hit.

" Real and according to them "it is right inside the materials formed when the asteroid hit so that is our assumption".
