Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Oleg Khramov announced that the United States unilaterally closed the communication channel with Russia on cybersecurity.
"The White House announced its unilateral withdrawal from the negotiation process," the Russian TASS news agency quoted Kramov as saying in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper, explaining that last February Russia sent proposals to the White House on developing joint measures to defend the critical infrastructure of the two countries from cyber attacks. But Washington did not respond to these proposals.
Khramov pointed out that the US Cyber Command and the Cyber Forces use information and communication technology to carry out pre-emptive strikes on very important targets in countries that oppose the United States.
The Russian Foreign Ministry warned earlier that the large-scale cyber operation launched by the United States and its allies against Russia represents open-ended aggression and terrorism, with dire consequences for its instigators and perpetrators.
