Hona Deitch, 45, from Beitar Illit, a public figure in the ultra-Orthodox sector, was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) on suspicion of committing sexual offenses on several women, whom he met as part of his activities in the field of charity.
Deitch is suspected of committing an indecent act, in that he harmed and exploited women using his lofty status.
His detention was extended by five days.
Deitch returned to Israel last night and appeared for questioning without his mobile device, after a period in Ukraine due to the publication of suspicions against him on social media by ultra-Orthodox bloggers during January.
During the interrogation he denied what was attributed to him.
According to police, Deitch committed the offenses over the years and in a systematic pattern of action.
Following the giving of evidence in the case, there is also a fear of disrupting investigative moves.
Jerusalem Magistrate's Court Judge Zion Sahrai noted that there was a reasonable suspicion that the offenses had been committed.
The suspect, Hanna Deitch, is an ultra-Orthodox activist known in the ultra-Orthodox sector as the "man of grace," who worked for needy families and people with disabilities.

This is another public figure in the ultra-Orthodox society who has recently been arrested on suspicion of committing sexual offenses.
Last year, the Haaretz newspaper published six testimonies against Yehuda Meshi Zahav of those who described that he sexually assaulted and exploited them, and since then many more testimonies have accumulated.
Gold Silk denied the details and even tried to commit suicide.
In December, Haaretz published three testimonies of women against the ultra-Orthodox writer and educator Haim Velder, alleging that he sexually assaulted them.
22 testimonies reached a special ultra-Orthodox court that deals with the issue, including children and adolescents.
The next day, he ended his life.
