During the first quarter of the current year, the branch of the Savings Bank in As-Suwayda and its office in Salkhad granted loans worth two billion and 87 million pounds to people with low incomes, including state workers, military personnel, retirees, and those with scientific and liberal professions.
The bank’s branch manager, Mamoun Shujaa, indicated to SANA’s reporter that the bank witnessed a good movement of lending, as the number of borrowers reached 742, including 378 borrowers with limited incomes who were granted sums of one billion and 910 million Syrian pounds, and 4 borrowers of scientific and liberal professions.
Shujaa stated that loans are granted with ceilings of 5 million pounds for people with low incomes, civilians and military, 2.5 million pounds for retirees, and 100 million pounds for scientific and liberal professions, referring to the facilities provided by the bank in various services such as withdrawals, deposits and others, as well as reducing the number of guarantees for loans with low incomes and the possibility of Acceptance of one guarantor according to the salary of the borrower and the guarantor and the length of his service.
Last year, the branch of the Savings Bank in As-Suwayda and its office in Salkhad granted loans worth 5 billion and 560 million pounds to people with low incomes, including state workers, military personnel, retirees, and those with scientific and liberal professions.
