Towards a new era in the automotive industry, Hyundai's alternative propulsion solutions are driving the world towards a greener and cleaner future

The automotive industry and the world of transportation are currently undergoing a revolution.

With the future and the environment in mind, gasoline- or diesel-powered internal combustion engines that emit pollutants will disappear from the world, and be replaced by environmentally friendly green and alternative propulsion solutions.

As with any new technological revolution in the automotive world, in this case too you will find Hyundai at the forefront as it carries the flag and invests tremendous development efforts to bring the good news to the home parking lot of each of us.

We have already begun to see the buds of the revolution in recent years around the world and also in Israel, with Hyundai being the pioneer in combining hybrid propulsion solutions in its range of models.

In hybrid propulsion, an internal combustion engine and an electric motor are combined to reduce pollutant emissions and reduce fuel consumption.

Hyundai's range of models today includes a variety of models with economical hybrid propulsion (HEV), from the compact Kona crossover, through the family Elantra to the saloon Sonata.

Hyundai's hybrid team will soon be joining the innovative Tucson Hybrid, which offers a choice between a standard hybrid propulsion version and a rechargeable hybrid propulsion version (PHEV).

Hyundai's rechargeable hybrid propulsion solution allows drivers to enjoy all the worlds.

Also a full and clean electric ride of tens of kilometers that is sufficient for the needs of daily mobility, and also hybrid propulsion combined for long-distance travel that allows a particularly economical ride regardless of charging stations.

Electric vision for 2030

With the rapid development and implementation of smart mobility solutions and electric propulsion technologies, Hyundai sets itself a target of producing 1.87 million electric cars by the end of the decade

. Despite the sophistication and efficiency of Hyundai's hybrid propulsion systems, this is only an intermediate solution (BEV).

Hyundai has presented its vision for the era of electric propulsion, with a comprehensive five-year plan, according to which by 2030 the company will present together with the luxury brand "Genesis" no less than 17 completely new electric models based on a dedicated electric propulsion platform.

Through an extensive supply of electric models, Hyundai aims to reach the target of selling 1.87 million electric cars worldwide by 2030.

Presenting Hyundai's power plan, company chairman Jaihun Chang noted that “Hyundai's management philosophy puts the good of humanity above all else.

Based on this belief we will take the lead in creating a future that ensures enjoyment, freedom of movement and preservation of the environment.

"Hyundai is undergoing an accelerated process of transitioning to electric energy on the way to becoming a world leader in the field, in parallel with efforts to provide smart and technologically advanced mobility solutions."

Modular electric platform

The path to the realization of the Electric Revolution is based on an advanced modular platform that will serve a wide product line with innovative design.

The first swallow for the electric revolution and the display of Hyundai's technological purpose in the field can be seen in the IONIQ 5, which is already moving on the roads in Israel.

Behind the futuristic and unusual design hides a line in the form of a dedicated modular electrical platform called E-GMP.

This platform combines the most advanced electric propulsion assemblies today: powerful and energy-efficient motors, a high-energy lithium-ion battery assembly and a lifespan of thousands of charging cycles and an ultra-fast charging system in high-voltage positions

In favor of extremely short claim times.

All these allow the IONIQ family models to offer a dynamic driving experience, high performance and long driving range that will make the electric car a useful, sensible and without range anxiety choice.

This year, Hyundai will present in Israel the IONIQ 6, the third model in the IONIQ family in a sedan-coupe body with saloon interior space, and next year a large seven-seater crossover called the IONIQ 7 will also join. And future Hyundai electric models have greater driving ranges, shorter charging times and lower production costs that will make them more accessible to the general public.

Hydrogen breakthrough

Alongside the electric revolution, Hyundai is also looking ahead to the distant future, and is pioneeringly investing in the alternative of the hydrogen fuel cell.

In this technology, the car is refueled with hydrogen, when through a reaction electricity is generated from it to propel the car, when the emission product is pure water.

Already today is sold in selected markets in the world the groundbreaking Hyundai NEXO, one of the first cars in the world to use a hydrogen fuel cell, and is a portable development incubator for this technology.

Along with NEXO, Hyundai also integrates the hydrogen fuel cell in propelling the heavy trucks from its products, and already this year these hydrogen trucks will also start moving on Israeli roads as part of a revolutionary move for a clean future in the local transportation market, driven by Colmobil Group, a Hyundai importer in Israel.

Nir Grossman, Hyundai's division manager at Colmobil, notes that "Hyundai is today at the forefront of technology in the development and production of alternative, advanced and innovative transportation solutions. "They will produce electricity, and Hyundai is already a world leader in the generation of electric propulsion based on a fuel cell (hydrogen). As a result, in the coming years we will meet a wide range of electric models in Israel.

Hyundai's commitment to a green and clean future, whether it's hybrid, electric or hydrogen propulsion, we meet on the roads today - and are expected to see the trend only expand.
