Warsaw announced on Friday that it had summoned the French ambassador to Poland to the Foreign Ministry, after remarks made by President Emmanuel Macron in Le Parisien on Thursday against the Polish head of government.

The head of state had accused Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki of being "a far-right anti-Semite, who bans LGBT", after having already accused him of "interfering in the French political campaign", pointing his closeness to his far-right presidential rival Marine Le Pen.
