A variety of handicrafts such as “embroidery, shak, candle making, antiques, etc.” were included in the “touch of hope” bazaar, which was set up by the Babnian Foundation for Development in the Hamidiya neighborhood of Homs over a period of 3 days.
Micheline Kodmani, head of the Babnian Foundation for Development, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the bazaar included several wings, including associations such as the Al-Rabeeh Association, which deals with children with autism, including young women and women who have small projects in the field of handicrafts, indicating that the aim of the bazaar is to support volunteer work and small projects and marketing them.
The young woman Tharaa Youssef pointed out that she participates in the bazaar in the field of murals, accessories and pieces of art that mimic nature, all of which she designed, noting that the bazaar provided her with an opportunity to get acquainted and exchange experiences.
Etab Kabakibo from the Spring Autism Association indicated that they participated in a section that includes handicrafts for children with autism with their teachers, with the aim of supporting them and introducing their work, while Christine Khoury indicated her participation through a section specialized in embroidery, with the aim of marketing her work.
The teacher, Zaka Al-Hussein, drew attention to her participation through various works related to wax and soap made by a group of young men and women with autism, while Suzan Al-Nakdali, a participant in the Department of Handicrafts, indicated through a group of antiques that she made of precious stones and shells, that what distinguishes the bazaar is that it is within an Arab house in The open air.
