The sparkling medals accompanied Lattakia Police Club player Ammar Hamdan in bodybuilding, classic, arm wrestling and fitness challenges during his local sports career and his ambition to reach the world through the gate of the world championship that will be held in Spain.
In a statement to SANA, 31-year-old Hamdan explained that he began practicing body building and fitness when he was fifteen years old because it enhances self-confidence and develops the soul and body through the absolute belief that any focused and organized effort made in the exercise raises its owner to positive results.
Hamdan reviewed his achievements at the local level, where he was crowned in his first participation in the Republic Championship for arm wrestling in 2019 with the gold medal and it was an incentive for him to continue serious training, which enabled him to achieve gold in the Republic Championship in arm wrestling in 2020, two golds in the Republic Championships for the classic category and bodybuilding in 2021 and gold in the championship Al-Gomhoria Fitness Challenge 2022.
According to Hamdan, after joining the national team, he won his first foreign participation in the Asian Fitness Challenge Championship, which took place in Iran this year, with two bronze and one silver medals in the doubles competitions.
Standing on the Asian podium prompted Hamdan to follow a carefully studied scientific training program by supervisors and coaches in preparation for the World Championship competitions that will be held next November in Spain and to achieve his dream of standing on the global podium and raising the name of Syria and its flag high.
