The Russian space agency, Roscosmos, announced that the process of developing documents and production of modules for the Russian space station has begun, pending the final approval of the technical project of the station by the institution's supervisory board.

Russia Today website quoted the Foundation as saying in a statement today that after its council, headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, listened to reports on the future use of the International Space Station and the establishment of the Russian space station, a decision was taken to start producing the units of the new station after the final approval of its technical project.

It is noteworthy that the Scientific-Technical Council of Roscosmos had previously recommended including the work on developing the technical project for the new orbital station on the Russian Federal Space Program until 2025.

In addition, Roscosmos announced that its subsidiaries are currently working on developing new engines and technologies for the modified Angara space rockets.

Ivan Krasnov, director of the "ProtonBM" company affiliated with Roscosmos, said that work is currently underway to develop 3 engines for the Angara space rockets, while another batch of these engines will be developed to secure the launch of manned space flights using this type of rocket.

It is noteworthy that Russia today possesses several types of modified Angara space rockets, as in 2014 it launched a rocket into Earth orbits from the Plesetsk space base.
