Good news for all fantasy fans: A new Elbenwald store is scheduled to open in Munich's pedestrian zone in June.

He will be the largest in Germany.

Munich - Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings - all of this should be available from June in Munich's pedestrian zone (Altstadt-Lehel).

Because at Neuhauser Straße 15, Elbenwald opens its largest shop in Germany.

On almost 400 square meters there will be almost everything for fantasy fans from T-shirts to mugs to film replicas.

So far, the largest store was in Cologne - with 250 square meters.

The range of around 15,000 products is mainly sold via the online shop, but there are also over 30 shops in Germany and Austria.

One of them is even in Munich, in the PEP Neuperlach.

Munich - Elbenwald serves over 300 fandoms

According to the website, Elbenwald was founded in 2000 by three students: Dirk Wiedenhaupt, Jens Geppert and Alexander Lapeta.

At first, Elbenwald was purely a Lord of the Rings online shop, but over the years more and more topics were added.

Today, over 300 fandoms are served.

For example Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel and Disney.

The first store opened in 2010 in Berlin's Alexa.

A paradise for fantasy fans: there is already a large Elbenwald store in Berlin.

Incidentally, the openings of the Elbenwald shops are particularly popular.

Because many customers come in disguise and get discounts for it.

In June, the Munich pedestrian zone is likely to become a hustle and bustle.

Munich: upswing in the city center

Wolfgang Fischer, head of the City-Partner association, is relaxed about the reoccupation by Elbenwald.

"It's not as if a traditional business would have to give way as a result," he says.

There used to be a Disney store and not far away, at Stachus, there is a large cinema, the Mathäser.

"The shop seems to be interesting for cinema fans and young people," says Fischer.

The City Partner boss is noticing an upswing in the city center again.

"Since January, the real estate industry has been reporting that the demand for commercial space in the city center is increasing." After two years of the pandemic, things are looking up again.

"Especially in the field of e-mobility," says Fischer.

This is a new development.
