The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that the Israeli occupation forces had arrested 200 Palestinians in Jenin in the West Bank since the beginning of this year, more than half of them were arrested last March.
The Prisoner Club said in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, that the arrests were concentrated in Jenin camp, and the detainees' ages ranged between 18 and 35 years, and a large percentage of them were subjected to repeated arrests over the past years.
The club pointed out that, during the past years, the occupation forces escalated their attacks on the city of Jenin, which witnessed a noticeable increase in the rate of arrests since late last year and the beginning of this year, compared to previous periods.
The club pointed out that the number of prisoners from the city of Jenin who are in Israeli detention reached 500, including 10 children and 3 women.
Since mid-March, the occupation forces have launched daily raids on Jenin refugee camp, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of Palestinians, and the demolition of several homes.
