The Berlin police are investigating against their own people.
During a check, two plainclothes police officers are said to have insulted young men and threatened them with their weapons.
Berlin – Insulted, threatened and drunk: the allegations against two Berlin police officers weigh heavily.
The commissariat responsible for official offenses has started investigations, the police headquarters said on Saturday.
The officials are said to have insulted two men during a check and threatened them with weapons.
Berlin police officers are said to have threatened two young men with a weapon
Two 20 and 23-year-old men had filed a complaint in the night from Friday (April 8) to Saturday.
According to the police, they were first insulted by two apparently drunk men and then checked at gunpoint.
These men had described themselves as police officers, but were traveling in an unmarked vehicle.
The police did not want to give any information as to which weapons were actually involved.
Drunk officers refuse to testify: service weapons removed
Immediately initiated investigations would have identified two civilian forces, said the police*.
They were found at their office and did not want to comment on the allegations.
"Breath alcohol measurements confirmed the suspicion that the police forces were under the influence of alcohol," it said.
Blood was taken from the officers.
Their service weapons were also confiscated.
When asked by the dpa, the police did not specify where the control took place, what the background was and where the two police officers work.
Nothing was initially said about the nature of the insult.
The investigations are ongoing.
