The Ministry of Economy and Industry called on the public today (Sunday) to stop using and banned the sale of the product "SNOW" degreaser, which can cause severe burns.

This is after a test conducted through the Standards Institute found that the product did not meet the requirements of the Israeli standard.

According to the defects clauses, the product does not have a mechanism for packing an opening arch.

Also, a warning against a product that "causes severe burns" is not marked on the package, along with a lack of instructions for use, safety instructions and storage instructions.

Furthermore, the chemical composition "sodium hydroxide" is not marked according to the requirements of the standard.

Meanwhile, the 15th Forum (Independent Cities in Israel) issued a document directing citizens to protect public and environmental health before and during Passover, and warned that the week before and during the holiday brings with it health and environmental hazards to citizens and the environment.

First, poisoning as a result of inhaling or ingesting various detergents and chemicals.

In the week before Pesach, the medical staff encounter the greatest number of cases of poisoning as a result of inhaling or ingesting various cleaning agents and chemicals.

Beyond that, during the holiday and the Sabbath, there is a significant increase in the amount of waste, resulting from cleaning the houses and getting rid of unnecessary items, excess food consumption, the use of disposable utensils, and buying holiday gifts that include packaging.

This waste is mostly transferred to landfills, and in the process of its decomposition greenhouse gases and harmful substances are emitted, which can pollute the groundwater.

Some of the waste is dumped in open areas and harms animals and the ecosystem.

15th Forum Recommendations:

  • Use ecological cleaners and reusable utensils

  • Have you tidied up the house and found items you do not need?

Too bad to throw away - donate them to other people

  • Plan your food purchases in advance and avoid buying unnecessary quantities

  • Elimination of chametz: Properly plan your food intake before the holiday, to minimize the amount of chametz for burning.

If you have closed packages of chametz left, donate them to charities that collect food for the needy
