Corona in Bavaria: Continued high number of corona deaths in Bavaria

Update from April 9, 3:53 p.m .:

Even if the corona numbers in Bavaria continue to fall – probably also because fewer people are being tested – the number of deaths remains high.

A double-digit number of people still die every day as a result of a corona infection.

On Saturday, the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin reported a decrease in the seven-day incidence from more than 1380 to 1321.7 new infections compared to the previous day.

At the same time, the RKI reported 62 more corona deaths - compared to the past few weeks, this was a comparatively high number.

In absolute numbers, the population of a small town in Bavaria continues to be infected with the pathogen every day.

According to the RKI, there were 25,184 new infections from Friday to Saturday.

Experts and the health authorities assume that numerous infections are no longer recorded at all - because the health authorities are heavily burdened and not all infected people have a PCR test done.

Only an infection detected by a PCR test counts in the statistics.

Update from April 9, 10:46 a.m .:

Good news to start the weekend: The incidence in Bavaria has fallen again.

On Saturday morning, the RKI reports a value of 1321.7.

For comparison: the day before it was still 1383.2.

Corona in Bavaria: Incidence is falling - Fewer students are missing face-to-face lessons

Another ray of hope: The number of Bavarian schoolchildren who miss face-to-face classes due to Corona has also fallen significantly.

As of Friday, it was 3.48 percent of the approximately 1.6 million students, as the Ministry of Education announced when asked.

That corresponds to around 56,000 people affected.

A week ago it was more than 70,000 or 4.44 percent.

Update from April 8, 8:16 a.m

.: The corona incidence in Bavaria continues to decline.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported 1,383.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days on Friday.

The previous day the value was 1514.5.

However, the Free State is still well above the nationwide incidence, which the RKI stated on Friday at 1181.2.

Current corona numbers for Bavaria

  • 30,747 new infections in 24 hours

  • 64 new deaths in one day

However, experts have been assuming for some time that numerous cases are no longer recorded at all - because the health authorities are overloaded and not all infected people have a PCR test done.

Only an infection detected by a PCR test counts in the statistics.

What is the situation in Bavaria's clinics?

The UKR in Regensburg reports that the pressure on the general wards has been high for weeks. * In Nuremberg, there is talk of many staff failures: "It's a balancing act every day to compensate for these failures," said a spokeswoman to

Merkur.de.

Update from April 7, 4 p.m.:

After the failed vote in the Bundestag to introduce general corona vaccination, Bavaria’s Health Minister Klaus Holetschek is calling for a new attempt.

“One thing is clear to me: This topic is not about party politics, but about the matter at hand.

It is important to introduce a general obligation to vaccinate that makes sense and is legally secure," said the CSU politician on Thursday in Munich.

All the course would have to be set in order to be well prepared for the fall.

“Older unvaccinated people have a significantly increased risk of becoming seriously ill.

The vaccination gap in this age group is still too high,” he emphasized.

"For this very reason, compulsory vaccination can make sense, at least for everyone over a certain age."

Holetschek continues to hope for compulsory corona vaccination - Aiwanger on the other hand

The failure of the application in the Bundestag was foreseeable, said Holetschek.

Furthermore: “The compromise proposal from the traffic light coalition was knitted with much too hot a needle – despite months of discussions on the subject.

The decisive mistake lies with the federal government: it has shied away from responsibility and ducked away for far too long.”

On the other hand, Minister of Economics and Free Voters boss Hubert Aiwanger expressed his satisfaction with the result: "That's a good thing," he said.

Now it must be a matter of “finally implementing sensible solutions before next winter”, such as more capacity in hospitals and care facilities, including staff.

Corona incidence in Bavaria is falling significantly - but how realistic are the numbers?

First report from April 7, 10:22 a.m .: Munich

– The seven-day incidence * in Bavaria has fallen.

The Robert Koch Institute gave the value on Thursday (April 7) at 1514.5.

The previous day it was 1628, a week ago it was 2042.1.

Corona in Bavaria: The current numbers

  • 35,939 new infections in 24 hours (a week ago: 53,600)

  • 55 dead in one day (total now: 22,813)

Corona numbers in Bavaria: Probably not all cases are recorded

For a long time, however, experts have been assuming that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - due to overburdened health authorities and because not all infected people have a PCR test done.

Only these count in the statistics.
