Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen meet five years later in the second round of the presidential election. Reserve game begins

The consequences of this first round of the 2022 presidential election may be much heavier than we imagine.

Admittedly, Emmanuel Macron arrived quite clearly in net from this first round of the presidential election.

Clearly ahead of her designated rival, Marine Le Pen, for a return leg of the 2017 ballot.

But the political landscape, this is the great lesson of the evening, is no longer the same.

The other political forces, with the exception of rebellious France, risk suffering from deep fractures.

A trend that is already appearing with the various calls for votes for the second round of the presidential election.

Valérie Pécresse calls to vote for Emmanuel Macron

She knew that her situation at the end of this first round would be difficult, but probably not to this extent.

With less than 5%, his campaign turned into a disaster.

She faces the risk of an internal schism within the Les Républicains party.

But as the second round approaches, and the match between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen, Valérie Pécresse has chosen to call to vote by name for the outgoing president.

"I am deeply worried about the future of our country, as the far right has never been so close to winning," she explained a few minutes after the announcement of the results.

I will vote in conscience Emmanuel Macron to prevent the coming to power of Marine Le Pen and the chaos that would result.

Éric Ciotti already diverges from the line of his candidate

He had gleaned more than 40% of the votes in the LR Congress and has made it known for months that he would vote in favor of Éric Zemmour against Emmanuel Macron.

But what will he do with Marine Le Pen in the final?

The deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes chose a line different from that of Valérie Pécresse.

On TF1, he evokes a slap.

"It's a defeat of the Republican right, we will draw the consequences," he said.

This campaign did not work, we must learn all the lessons from it, but the right is still there”, he assures, before discussing his decision for the second round: “Personally, I will not vote for Emmanuel Macron ( …) I do not recognize myself in his policy, his balance sheet ”..

Éric Zemmour calls for a vote for Le Pen

In a long speech, the polemicist, credited with 7% of the voting intentions, had to decide whether he would call to vote specifically in favor of Marine Le Pen.

The latter's niece had put some pressure on her candidate to go in this direction.

“I can say that Éric Zemmour, on behalf of Reconquête!, will call to vote for Marine Le Pen, she explained on TF1.

Macron is the first opponent, no hesitation to have.

To have the majority in the second round, we must unite.

Éric Zemmour did not last long in the suspense.

“Your voice can never again be overlooked regardless of the outcome of the second round.

Everyone will understand that our ideas are worth much more than our score today.

I was not able to convince enough of our compatriots, ”he assures.

Before concluding: “I want to say in conclusion, because I think of France above all, that I cannot sit idly by in front of the words that await our country.

I have many disagreements with Marine Le Pen but there is against Marine Le Pen a man who brought in two million immigrants.

I will not choose the wrong opponent.

This is why I call on my voters to vote for Marine Le Pen.

There is something much bigger than all of us.

Hidalgo chooses Macron

The socialist candidate was the first to speak this Sunday evening after the publication of the results.

His party, reduced to almost nothing to less than 2%, is certain to live through very difficult times.

“The results, like the abstention, testify to a France divided and confronted with an extreme right at the gates of power”, explains Anne Hidalgo, before continuing: “I call on you with seriousness to vote against the extreme right of Marine Le Pen using the Emmanuel Macron ballot.

“Not a single voice for Madame Le Pen”, insists Mélenchon

Jean-Luc Mélenchon stands as the third man in this presidential election.

In a speech full of conviction, as he is used to, the candidate did not directly call for a vote in favor of Emmanuel Macron.

But he called for the dam against Marine Le Pen.

“We know who we will never vote for,” he said from his HQ.

And to repeat several times: “We must not give voice to Mrs. Le Pen!

We must not give a single voice to Mrs. Le Pen!
