Mysterious Plane in Area 51 (TechCloset)

Satellite images of the super-secret and mysterious U.S. Air Force base in Grom Lake, better known as "Area 51," have revealed what appears to be a development of a particularly new and exotic aircraft.

The ground crews at the place always take care to hide anything classified before spy satellites pass over them however this time they seem to have missed out.

A photo posted on the Planet Labs website in late January shows a plane with Delta wings partially covered.

The cover is sloppily placed at the end of the hangar, and looks similar to any other U.S. Air Force base.

What's interesting is what's inside the hangar - a plane that looks like a mini-Concord about 20 meters long and 15 meters wide.

The mysterious plane appears to have elegantly rounded lines, says website expert THE DRIVE Tyler Rogway: "It leads to curved wingtips that may be facing upwards. Overall," he added, "the wings have a flowing, almost organic look."

From the clues that can be understood from the picture, it seems to have been revealed that the United States is planning a new aircraft as part of the NGAD, a next-generation air superiority aircraft.

NGAD aircraft are a family of tools under development that are supposed to replace the existing F22 and F35 aircraft and are still in the testing phase.

Will Roper, a physicist and foreign policy strategist who oversaw procurement for the U.S. Air Force and Air Force from 2018 to 2021, told Defense News just before the Air Force Association's Air and Space Conference for 2020: "We have already built and flown a scale model "Full of the real world, and we broke records in the process. We are ready to continue building the next generation of aircraft in a way that has never been seen before."

And maybe it's something completely different?

Other options for what we see in the photo, besides the next-generation air superiority aircraft, include a new version of the legendary U.S. Air Force Aurora spy plane that shares the profile of the inverted delta wings seen in the photo.

The Hypersonic jet, rumored to have begun to emerge in the late 1980s, has the characteristics of a spacecraft, that is, capable of taking off normally from an airport and reaching the edge of the atmosphere, almost as far as space.

In addition, it can reach the speed of Mach 7, and has an elusive structure.

At the same time not much is known about the plane and it is not at all certain that it actually exists, since its existence has never been confirmed.

Area 51 aircraft researcher Chuck Clark claimed to have seen Aurora in 1994.

He said: "I even saw the aurora take off one night - or a plane that matched the configuration considered to be that of the aurora - sharp delta wings with twin tails about 20 feet long. It left the hangar lit at two-thirty in the morning and used a lot of runway space for takeoff. "He had one red light up, but as soon as the wheels came off the track, the light went out and that was the last thing I saw from him."
