Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Dr. Shafiq Diop discussed with a delegation that includes representatives of various Iranian commercial, industrial and craft sectors ways to enhance and develop economic, commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries.

During his meeting with the delegation at the embassy in Tehran today, Ambassador Diop stressed the importance of benefiting from the new investment law No. 18 of 2021, which aims to create an attractive and suitable investment environment for Arab and foreign investors, explaining that this law provides many exemptions and benefits for investors and constitutes an important opportunity for Iranian businessmen and investors. take advantage of them.

Ambassador Diop presented the investment map prepared by the Syrian Investment Authority, which included priority projects for investment in all Syrian governorates, calling for viewing and benefiting from them.

Ambassador Diop stressed the importance of establishing joint companies between the two sides and enhancing the role of the private sector to serve the interests of the two friendly countries in the economic and commercial fields, and cooperation in establishing knowledge and technology companies, exchanging knowledge and searching for suitable alternatives to overcome the effects of the unilateral and illegal coercive sanctions imposed on Syria and Iran, stressing the importance of Exerting more efforts to enhance economic and trade relations to rise to the level of the existing strategic political relations between the two countries, and working to establish reciprocal exhibitions between the two countries in a way that contributes to introducing their citizens to the products and commodities produced in each country.

Ambassador Diop noted the participation of Iranian companies and Iranian businessmen in the third conference for the reconstruction of Syria, entitled “Investment Prospects and Visions,” to be held in Damascus next May.

For its part, the Iranian delegation stressed the importance of cooperation with Syria in various economic, medical, industrial, technological and knowledge fields, calling for addressing all technical issues in a way that contributes to strengthening relations between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the Iranian side, Vice-President of the Iranian-African Joint Chamber of Commerce Mirzadeh Brahman, Amir Soleimani, the economic assistant for solar energy affairs in the chamber, Mr. Shojaei, the chamber's economic assistant for pharmaceuticals and raw materials for the textile industries, Eng. Shahidi, the economic advisor in the field of agricultural production in the chamber, and Jaafar Beki, the chamber's resident delegate In Syria, Jawad Islami from the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Muhammad Afshari, the economic advisor at the Iran Chamber of Commerce, and Gholam Reza Hassanpour, head of the Iranian Trade Committee, while Dr. Muhammad Tawfiq Abu Gallon, Minister Plenipotentiary, Assistant Ambassador and Economic Adviser Ali Khamis, attended from the Syrian Embassy.
