Bad Tölz – The general meeting of the Tölz rifle company 1705 recently took place in the Tölz shooting range.

The early meeting with new elections became necessary after Captain Michael Nebel, who had been newly elected just a year earlier, died unexpectedly at the age of 59 in mid-November 2021.

In the new election, Andreas Binder was elected with 73 of 76 votes as the new captain, clearly ahead of the second candidate, Heinz Bergmann.

The 53-year-old Binder has been with the Tölz marching band since he was twelve and can look back on 40 years of membership in the company.

He is the landlord of the Tölzer Binderbräu and the museum director in the family-run brewery and folk art house in the Tölzer bathing area.

The trained stone sculptor was previously employed at the Tölz City Museum and was in charge there for eight years.

Due to Corona, the new captain of the rifle company was unable to attend the meeting and his new election, but was surprised by the overwhelming election result on the phone the next day.

Above all, Binder wants to “hold on to customs and church traditions” and is looking forward to the camaraderie and solidarity of “old and young in the Tölz company,” he emphasizes.

As an honorary member of the riflemen in Dorf Tirol, Binder also wants to take part in the regular Alpine region meetings of riflemen with the Tölz rifle company.

Another point of the day was the change in the statutes that the Tölzer Schützen uniformly wear a green traditional waistcoat along with the marching band based on the Miesbach waistcoat, a so-called gilet, under their uniform.

Furthermore, after his 15-year tenure as captain, Helmut Ginhart was elected honorary captain of the company.

At the Marching Band's recent general meeting, Florian Singer was elected as the new drum major and Johannes Bauer as his deputy.

Florian Singer succeeds Martin Hinterholzer, who was appointed Honorary Drum Major.

Lieutenant Josef Binder remains Andreas Binder's deputy.
