Last year, a video circulated on the Internet showing several men carrying mahjong platforms on the MTR during rush hours and playing cards from Lok Fu to Choi Hung Station in a moving carriage.
The police later arrested 5 men and revealed that 4 of them were using the elderly Octopus to take the MTR.
Five people were accused of violating the MTR Bylaws. They pleaded guilty to the crime of nuisance in a public place in the Kowloon City Court today (11th) and were each fined $1,000.
A police spokesman scolded the defendant for acting selfishly and obstructing passages in the carriage, reminding the public not to break the law for fun.

Five defendants: He Haoyuan (27 years old, site technician), Weng Haoquan (21 years old, student), Peng Chengyi (20 years old, student), Xu Boxuan (24 years old, student) and Cui Zhiyuan (21 years old, photographer).
They were both charged with one count of "nuisance committed in a public place", alleging that they opened a sparrow stand, played sparrows and filmed in the carriage on October 13, 2021.
The first defendant was also charged with one count of "not taking vehicles, animals, etc. across the railway premises", referring to the fact that he brought large luggage into the MTR, namely a mahjong platform.
The other four defendants were charged with "passing the train with lost, damaged or expired tickets", alleging that they used Leyou cards.
There are rumors on the Internet that several people were fighting with bamboo in the MTR train.

Lok Fu Station Bamboo Battle to Rainbow Station
The facts of the case allege that the five defendants entered the Tsim Sha Tsui Station of the MTR at about 6 pm on October 13 last year, when the first defendant was holding a mahjong platform.
They took the MTR to Mong Kok, and then changed to a train on the Kwun Tong Line, heading for Tiu Keng Ling.
When the train arrived at Lok Fu Station, the second to fifth defendants started a "bamboo battle", and the first defendant was responsible for filming with his mobile phone.
Afterwards, they packed up the sparrows and got off the bus at Rainbow Station.

The police took over the investigation and arrested everyone the following month.
They confessed under caution, and one of the first defendants said they were pretending to play sparrows and filming funny videos to share with others.
The other four defendants admitted to using elderly Octopus.
Rebuke defendant for making noise
At the press conference, Chief Inspector of the Railway Police District Duan Yalun scolded the defendant for his selfish behavior and obstructing the passage in the carriage. In addition to causing inconvenience and noise to other passengers, it is more likely to pose a danger and cause injury to other passengers.
Although the defendant's actions were only for self-entertainment and did not involve monetary transactions, Duan reminded the public to abide by the law in any activity, respect the rights of others, and take into account the safety of others.
He reminded the public not to fall into the legal net by mistake because of their fun-loving nature.
