The city of Frankfurt has now approved an expansion.

Another 11,000 standing places are to be added.

Frankfurt – In the home game against SC Freiburg, Eintracht Frankfurt did not score at the weekend *.

At the same time, there was good news for the Bundesliga soccer club and all fans.

Because the city of Frankfurt* has approved an expansion of the Deutsche Bank Park stadium.

According to the club, the head of the sports department, Mike Josef (SPD), granted the building permit on Sunday (04/10/2022), as reported by fnp.de *.

Eintracht Frankfurt: 11,000 new standing places for the SGE stadium

“Construction will start in late autumn, then things really get going.

I'm really happy for the city and for Eintracht Frankfurt*," said Josef.

Around 11,000 new standing places are to be added in the future.

This will increase the stadium capacity to 60,000 seats.

Axel Hellmann, CEO of SGE, was also pleased.

"Back then, we fought to ensure that there was still standing room at all 18 years ago - when we were planning the stadium.
