The Federation of Nature Conservation is pushing for the expansion of renewable energies in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck.

He proposes three measures.

1. Photovoltaic

A large photovoltaic system is to be built on the runway of the former military airfield between Bruck and Maisach.

It should only be built on surfaces that have already been sealed.

The BN calculates that a gross floor area of 170,000 square meters could be available.

84,000 PV modules in an east-west orientation could generate 26.5 million kilowatt hours of green electricity a year, writes Claus Ehrenberg, second chairman of the BN district group.

That is equivalent to the power requirement of around 10,000 households.

In addition, 1.2 million euros could be redeemed.

According to Ehrenberg, the advantages include: no noise and dust for the residents, preservation of the FFH areas and, due to the manageable height of the system, hardly any visual changes.

In addition, the planes could no longer return if the runway was occupied, says Ehrenberg.

2. Garbage fermentation

The Bund Naturschutz is also calling for the introduction of a biowaste bin in the district and the construction of a fermentation plant for it.

According to Ehrenberg, the energy from waste can be used to generate electricity and heat.

In fact, the district council has been dealing with this idea for a long time.

At the moment, the organic waste collected in Volkenschwand near Kelheim is being fermented and used to generate energy.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

3. Wind power

Furthermore, the Bund Naturschutz calls for the expansion of wind power.

Only two systems in the district are far too few, writes Ehrenberg.

23 systems would be appropriate, he thinks.

The federal government believes the 10H rule will soon be overturned by federal regulation.

"The municipalities should therefore start an initiative to expand the use of wind energy as soon as possible." The federal government refers to the concentration areas that were once determined in the partial area use plan.

These ideas were not pursued further after the introduction of the 10-rule.

In fact, there are already some initiatives in the district for more wind turbines, for example in Maisach and Jesenwang.

The Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck are also showing great interest in further systems.
