Accident on A9: cars go up in flames – two people cannot save themselves
While first responders were able to rescue the seriously injured driver of the Ford Focus from his car, any help came too late for the two occupants of the Seat Ibiza.
According to the police spokesman, they were "burned beyond recognition".
According to the police, the two dead are an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman from the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district.
An ambulance took the seriously injured 56-year-old Ford driver to a hospital.
Such an accident is very stressful for the emergency services.

During the extinguishing and clean-up work, the A9 was completely closed to the north.
In addition to an expert, the public prosecutor's office and a team from the psychosocial emergency care were on site.
This primarily supported the emergency services and the first responders in order to process what had happened.
The traffic accident resulted in total property damage of an estimated 50,000 euros.
