Now the police have released the first details about the crime.

After the dispute on Sunday morning in downtown Munich, in which a man lost his life, there are still many unanswered questions.
The police assume that it was an argument between two groups
(see previous update).
According to reports, however, this act is not related to the other bloody events that recently took place in Munich.
Those involved would not belong to the two Romanian clans who had caused a stabbing in front of the Four Seasons Hotel on Thursday.
Investigators also consider a connection with the gang conflict in Milbertshofen, in which two young groups attacked each other, to be unlikely.
So how do you classify what happened at the Stachus?
A question that the investigators now have to clarify.
It is clear that several people fled the scene of the crime.
The police spokesman left open on Sunday whether the people involved or “only” witnessed the incidents.
After these men and the suspect is determined.

On Sunday morning, a man was stabbed in a dispute in downtown Munich.
The background to the fact is still completely unclear.
Now it has become known: The victim is said to be a young man from Africa.
According to initial findings, the police do not assume a racist motive.

The scene of the crime was the sidewalk in front of a row of shops near Stachus, in the immediate vicinity of a tram stop.
The police immediately cordoned off the crime scene, and the forensics team meticulously searched the sidewalk in the hours.
Since the murder weapon is still missing, it is still unclear whether the man was really stabbed with a knife.
The police are not only looking for the perpetrator, but also for possible other participants and witnesses.
"According to current knowledge, several people related to the offense could be at large," emphasizes a police spokesman to the

The investigators assume, however, that it was not a dispute between two groups.

Early on Sunday morning, a man at Stachus was probably attacked with a knife and fatally injured.
The police have now released new details about the incident.

At around 6 a.m., the Munich police received the information about a dispute between two people at Sonnenstraße 2 via the emergency call 110. According to initial findings, one of the two men was seriously injured by a stab.
Rescue workers who were summoned then took him to a Munich hospital.
He succumbed to his injuries there shortly afterwards.

Munich: Man dies from stab wounds – identity not yet clearly established
The identity of the man has not yet been clearly established.
"According to the current state of investigation, several people who could be connected to the crime are at large," says the police report.
Further information on the means of the crime or the background are not yet known.
The homicide squad has since taken over the investigation.

Fatal attack in Munich: man dies in hospital
According to initial investigations, the argument broke out at around six in the morning on the Stachus, during which the man was stabbed.
He was then taken to a hospital, but could not be saved.
The police are now looking for several fugitives.
The suspect or suspects are therefore still on the run.
