The new future museum in Nuremberg is struggling with challenges due to the corona pandemic.

Now it seems to be slowly going uphill.

Nuremberg - An opening in the middle of the corona pandemic.

The new Museum of the Future in Nuremberg has not had it easy in recent months.

In the more than six months since it opened, a good 65,000 people have visited the museum.

Corona restrictions have long made themselves felt in the number of guests, but those responsible recently recorded an increase in visitors.

A museum spokesman said there has been a real run on the house since last week.

In the week before the Easter holidays, school classes in particular seemed to have really wanted to go on an excursion.

An increased number of visitors is also expected during the two weeks of vacation, but then families are more likely to be expected. said the museum spokesman.

Masks have not been compulsory in museums for a week.

"We have observed that around half of the visitors continue to wear a mask voluntarily," said the spokesman.

Visitors are still encouraged to wear FFP-2 masks in the exhibition.

The Future Museum, a branch of the Deutsches Museum in Munich, opened in Nuremberg's old town in September.

The exhibition deals with future technologies and discusses them from an ethical point of view.

Hyperloops, care and sex robots, the working world of the future and climate change are all on three floors.

According to the museum, there are always changes, for example a new exhibit on the subject of hydrogen or a station for autonomous driving are planned in the future.
