The French Ministry of Agriculture announced the culling of more than 13 million poultry in France since the end of November, at a time when the outbreak of bird flu is exacerbating rapidly.
The ministry added in a statement that 1230 outbreaks had been recorded in farms since the first outbreak was discovered on November 26 until the eighth of this month.
France recorded a rare increase in outbreaks of the highly contagious virus, which is believed to have been transmitted to the country by migratory wild birds.
