One can, of course, rant about normalization, talk about the "solution" of the Palestinian issue and engage again with the degree of sympathy for Israel in the West, but a serious discussion requires a different perspective: one that focuses on Israel's most important regional challenge. This is a complex tangle of alliances and regional considerations.

Of course, not all factors accept Israel's leading status, but it is well maneuvering in the new arena.
