The detention of the ultra-Orthodox activist Chona Deitch was extended today (Monday) by four days.

The police representative said during the hearing in the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court today that Deitch is indeed recognized as a "man of kindness" but clarified that "in some cases kindness is not of truth, but of reward." The suspicions against Deitch were first published on social media by ultra-Orthodox bloggers during the month of January.

Deitch fled to Ukraine, and returned a few days later.

Last week, three months later, he was arrested and reported for questioning without his mobile device.

During the interrogation he denied what was attributed to him.

According to police, Deitch committed the offenses over the years and in a systematic pattern of action.

Jerusalem Magistrate's Court Judge Zion Sahrai noted that there was a reasonable suspicion that the offenses had been committed.

The suspect, Hanna Deitch, is an ultra-Orthodox activist known in the ultra-Orthodox sector as the "man of grace," who worked for needy families and people with disabilities.
