In the context of the Partygate affair about lockdown violations in the British seat of government Downing Street, the London police are imposing penalties on Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Finance Minister Rishi Sunak.

The British government said in a statement.

Last week, Scotland Yard initially imposed 20 fines for violations of corona regulations.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson came under massive pressure earlier this year over alleged lockdown parties in Downing Street.

However, the start of a police investigation into the matter prevented a much-anticipated internal report by top official Sue Gray from being released in full.

The investigative report on the "Partygate" affair had accused those responsible at the British seat of government of serious misconduct in complying with the rules.

They would have failed to adhere to the standards set at the time of the Coronal lockdown.

These applied to the entire population, including the government, the report said.

The Metropolitan Police are investigating twelve events from 2020 and 2021. At that time, there were strict contact restrictions in the wake of the pandemic.

Questionnaires had been sent to more than 100 government employees and employees by the police.

Johnson and his wife Carrie Johnson also had to respond.
