There is a lot of passion behind it: The young company "Unshinebar" from Offenbach is celebrating success.

She finds most buyers for her products abroad.

Offenbach – Shiny necklaces in silver and gold, bracelets and, above all, various pendants.

Lightning bolt, palm tree, skull, butterfly, praying hands.

When Lukas Kollin shows the pieces of jewelery with which he has made his living under the name "Unshinebar" for a little over two years, he is completely enthusiastic himself.

"I think every part is just so great," says the 26-year-old from Offenbach*.

No wonder.

After all, he designs the jewelry himself together with an employee. It is produced in Italy, Denmark and China according to his wishes and designs.

"Unfortunately, there are hardly any opportunities in Germany to have our jewelry made." The material: gold-plated stainless steel, waterproof, rust-free.

The prices: chains 35 euros upwards, there are trailers for a few euros less, as reported by op-online.de *.

Offenbach: Young company designs jewelry - Constantly growing range at "Unshinebar"

Since January 2020, Lukas Kollin has been selling his steadily growing range of jewelery exclusively through his own online shop.

"But of course we worked on the idea months in advance," he says.

After completing his training as an IT specialist, the Offenbacher initially programmed websites full-time, including many online shops.

"I've seen time and time again how passionate people are about their projects." That's what he wanted too.

Coupled with his already great enthusiasm for fashion, the idea of starting his own company finally matured.

On board from the start: employee Benny Özcan.

"But he has long been much more than just an employee," emphasizes Lukas Kollin.

He is therefore happy to be able to hire his right hand permanently and full-time.

Because without him

Lukas Kollin processes a good 600 orders every month in his company premises on Strahlenbergerstraße.

Including chains.

"I send about 1,000 items a month." Much of this goes abroad, Scandinavia or Great Britain, only 30 percent to customers within Germany.

"Unshinebar" from Offenbach: Customers from 13 to over 50 years

The clientele is completely mixed.

"We have customers who are 13, but who are over 50 years old," says the jewelry designer.

After initially wanting to specialize in men's jewelry because there had previously only been a small range for men, the concept is now geared towards unisex pieces.

"Our chains.

Bracelets, pendants and rings should be for everyone.” That is important to Lukas Kollin.

Even if he has already achieved one of his goals and can now make a living from his jewelry business, it shouldn't have been that.

"It is our wish that we continue to grow and become the largest provider in Germany," says the 26-year-old.

He wants to be a pioneer, especially when it comes to pendants, offering four or five new motifs in gold and silver every month.

This requires commitment.

“I pack parcels every day from Monday to Sunday, take them to the post office and accept returns,” says Kollin.

In addition, there are three to four hours a day in which he shoots videos for the social media platform "TikTok", which "Unshinebar" only uses to advertise.

Another project is planned for this year.

For the first time, he not only wants to sell his products online, but also offer them locally in several cities.

“Initially in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.” Lukas Kollin is particularly looking forward to finally meeting his customers in person.

Offenbach was already considered a good place for start-ups* years ago.

The city came up with a few ideas for this.
