The Ukrainian Post has issued new stamps with a clear message to the Russian invaders.
It shows a Ukrainian soldier giving a warship the finger.
A special postmark also depicts the outline of the Snake Island in the Black Sea, which was conquered by the Russian Navy, as well as the beginning of the sentence »Russian warship, f*** you!«
The motif and the sentence are an allusion to a recorded radio message in the first days of the war at the end of February.
Infantryman becomes a folk hero
At that time, a Russian warship had asked the Snake Island garrison to lay down their arms.
According to Ukraine, the Ukrainian marine infantryman Roman Hrybow replied: "Russian warship, fuck off!" The soldier then became a folk hero.
Since then, the slogan has been placarded nationwide and adorns T-shirts and other souvenirs.
The stamps were issued in two versions: one for domestic and one for foreign.
The first special envelopes covered with the stamps were signed by Hrybow and post chief Ihor Smyljanskyj in the main post office in Kyiv.
Meanwhile, the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine continues.
Western military experts have recently observed, among other things, a worsening of the situation in the besieged port city of Mariupol.
Ukraine is currently examining unconfirmed information about a possible use of chemical weapons in the city.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said on Twitter that the UK is working with its partners to review the reports.
"Any use of such weapons would be a callous escalation."
And further: "We will hold Putin and his regime accountable."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russian forces of more serious war crimes, including mass rapes and torture.
