A 49-year-old former police officer has been found guilty by a jury in the US capital in connection with the attack on the Capitol in Washington in January 2021.
This is reported by the Washington Post and the CNN broadcaster, among others.
After an inciting speech by the ousted Republican President Donald Trump, his supporters stormed the seat of Congress in Washington last year.
They wanted to prevent the confirmation of the election victory of the Democrat Joe Biden.
The attack killed five people and injured dozens.
The attack on the heart of US democracy shook the country.
Trump had called on his supporters to march to the Capitol and fight "whatever the hell".
The right-wing populist also repeated his frequently refuted allegations that massive electoral fraud robbed him of a second term.
The ex-cop from the small town of Rocky Mount, Virginia, was found guilty on all six counts.
He was threatened with up to 20 years in prison.
The jury found the former police officer's activities included obstructing Congress' official process, clashing with police during a riot and tampering with evidence.
He was also found guilty of trespassing and disorderly conduct in the Capitol.
The officer and another Rocky Mount colleague involved were fired after the 2021 attack.
According to media reports, the prosecutor's office relied on surveillance videos of the Capitol, which showed how the man and his former police colleague stormed the building with other Trump supporters.
Police bodycam footage also showed him standing in the way of security officials who were supposed to be supporting the Capitol Police, equipped with a gas mask and a three-foot wooden stick.
