Four injured, 50,000 euros damage: A drunk man raced towards border officials in Bavaria and then crashed into a truck without braking.
Bad Reichenhall - It was a close affair.
On Saturday evening (April 9th), a driver crashed into border control police officers on the Walsberg on the A8 in Berchtesgadener Land.
At 100 km/h instead of the specified walking speed of 10 km/h.
The 23-year-old driver changed lanes "completely unexpectedly" before the border control and headed straight for the federal police officers, as the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) reported on Sunday.
The police officers reacted with quick-wittedness and jumped to the side in time after the driver ignored their stop signal.

The 23-year-old's Renault Clio then crashed "unbraked into the rear of a trailer truck that was just passing the checkpoint."
According to the BRK, the driver's alcohol test showed a blood alcohol level of 1.5, which is why the police secured his driver's license and initiated criminal proceedings.
All four occupants of the Clio suffered moderate injuries as a result of the impact.
An ambulance took her to nearby hospitals.
The police and the truck driver were unharmed.
The police estimate the total damage at around 50,000 euros.
The Renault registered in France was a total loss and had to be towed away.
The Traunstein control center sent the Bavarian and Austrian Red Cross, each with two ambulances from the Berchtesgadener Land and Salzburg, the rescue service operations manager and the Marzoll fire engine from the Bad Reichenhall volunteer fire brigade to the scene of the accident.
According to the BRK, there were no significant disabilities and no delays in border controls as a result of the accident.
