At 12:12 noon today (12th), the police received a report that a male resident of an isolation hotel at No. 8 Yongxing Street, Tin Hau, fainted.
Ambulancemen arrived at the scene and confirmed that the 69-year-old male victim died on the spot. The police did not seize a suicide note at the scene, and the cause of death was to be determined after an autopsy.
Sources at the scene indicated that the male victim himself had a long-term medical record. He had returned to Hong Kong from a foreign country earlier and was quarantined at the hotel on the site.
The male victim's family went to pick him up today, but the staff knocked on the door and no one answered, so they opened the door with a backup key and found the male victim unconscious on the bed.
