Truck load catches fire at the entrance to Garmisch-Partenkirchen - there were mattresses in the container

A truck load burned out completely on Tuesday at noon at the eastern entrance to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Emergency services had to block the main road for almost an hour.

– A truck load that caught fire led to a major fire brigade operation in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Tuesday around 12 noon.
According to the police report, the 50-year-old driver noticed the fire when he was driving on federal highway 2 near the clinic.
He stopped at the side of the road with the vehicle of a local company and still managed to put down the tipping trough before the fire brigade arrived.
Inside were old mattresses.
It is not yet clear why these became inflamed.
The amount of property damage cannot be precisely quantified.
The main road was closed for almost an hour for the duration of the extinguishing and clean-up work.
