There is a great demand in the investment process in the renewable energy sector, with many investors heading to establish solar power plants in different locations in the governorate, based on the economic feasibility achieved from selling the electricity produced from them.

A number of investors in this sector talked about the importance of investing in renewable energies and its future prospects, including the investor, Kahala Sawaf, from the city of Mahardah (owner of a project to generate electricity using solar panels), who indicated that the production capacity of her project is (100 kW) and it was connected to the electrical network. Two years ago, she explained that solar energy has become an alternative to electric energy because it achieves great savings and is a renewable source of energy that reduces the burden of electricity and fuel consumption, pointing to the increasing demand of farmers in the countryside of Mahrada to adopt alternative energy to water their agricultural crops.

In turn, Suleiman Al-Nimr, a farmer from the village of Umm Al-Tawiyar, said that he owns an agricultural land of 20 dunums, which he cultivates with various types of vegetables, indicating that he installed solar panels to irrigate wheat and summer and winter crops, as it constituted an emergency solution in light of the long power cuts. He also invested this experience to water his crops by spray and drip. .

For his part, Eng. Mikhlif Al-Hassan, one of those working in the field of implementing renewable energy projects, pointed out that there are many citizens who applied the experience in their homes as a result of electricity cuts for long periods, stressing the importance of expanding the establishment of renewable energy projects to include all sectors as it is environmentally friendly and provides fuel in addition to its uses in irrigation. Farmland.

For his part, Eng. Ahmed Al-Youssef, General Manager of the Hama Electricity Company, revealed the implementation and investment of 7 renewable energy projects in Hama and connecting them to the electrical network during the past three years, distributed over the new industrial zone with 3 projects with different capacities amounting to 1 megawatt for the first and 630 kilowatts for the second, with a capacity of 100 kilowatts. Watts for the third, in addition to a project in Mahrada with a capacity of 100 kW, and two projects in Deir Shamil, the first with a capacity of 100 kW, and the second with a capacity of 400 kW, and one project in the village of Al-Hamiri with a capacity of 30 kW.

Al-Youssef said: There are 11 renewable energy power plants under implementation with different capacities, distributed in Qamhana and Kajoun plant on the Hama-Homs road and in the villages of Aqabat Al-Jarada, Al-Suwaida, Al-Jalima, Suruj, Kafrbhum and Aqabat Al-Jarada, pointing out that there is a project under license with a capacity of 6 megabytes.

Al-Yousef stressed the importance of encouraging the use of renewable energy, which would reduce the burden on the electrical network, increase the amount of electricity produced, and reduce the hours of rationing.
