There is no more perfect time than the Passover holiday, when the children at home are bored, the weather is great, and you finally have a break from work - to go out for a fun picnic, accompanied by a blossom and green in the eyes.
So places to have the perfect picnic are not lacking - whether it's in the north or the south, in the woods or in the woods.
But no less important than the location, and even the food you choose to bring with you, is the preservation of the environment.
This year the KKL-JNF went to four-day cleaning events in early March and included cleaning in the forests from the north to the Negev, with the goal of preserving the environment of course, but also allowing many hikers to walk and spend time in clean forests.
Here are some very simple recommendations Ecological that keeps the environment clean:

Disposable - it's forever
Despite the confusing name, disposable utensils stay around and destroy it for thousands of years to come after you use them.
This is why last November the order imposing a tax on disposable utensils came into force and their price doubled.
By the way, another reason to give them up at the upcoming picnic.
We would recommend that you use reusable utensils, such as enamel plates from home, but if you are afraid that they will break or be lost, it is always best to use disposable utensils made from biodegradable and environmentally friendly materials like bamboo or cardboard.
It does take them weeks to decay, but in the end they disappear.
And in any case, if you do not feel like returning home with dirty dishes, know that some of the JNF's picnic parking lots have sinks for washing dishes - which will allow you to return much more organized after the trip.
Be sure to use reusable packaging
Not only the cutlery should be doubled but also the food packaging you bring with you from home.
If you have brought snacks, breads or cheeses, you should pack them ahead of time at home in reusable plastic containers and not come with plastic packaging and bags that may end up out of the bin, or worse inside the stomachs of wildlife.
It is also possible otherwise.

Do not feed the animals
And we have come to one of the most important reasons why it is advisable to avoid disposable utensils and leave them clean - the wildlife.
The disposable plastic utensils left in the field, sometimes with food scraps, attract the animals in the forest (rodents, porcupines, foxes, pigs, various birds and more) and find their way into their digestive tract.
The animal feces in the forest often indicate that they ate plastic utensils.
The plastic eaten by the animals and also the cans can injure them (especially their digestive system) and in extreme cases can also cause their death.
And you do not want it on your conscience.
In all the JNF forests there are prominent bins - use them.
Avoid bringing drinking bottles
Every child, as well as the adults themselves, today have reusable bottles that are in daily use in kindergarten or at work.
Therefore, even if you go on a picnic, there is no reason to take plastic disposable drinking bottles with you.
Want to bring a sugary drink?
Make juice and put in the reusable bottle.
Recycle
It is true that if there is a tin in the picnic area it is most convenient to throw the waste in it, but if you have a composter at home - a great way to educate the children to protect the environment - you should collect the fruit peels and leftovers to use later to fertilize the garden.
Take the bottles and packaging, if any, with you back home where you will sort and recycle according to the colors of the bins.
