An 80-year-old from Munich was lucky in misfortune: because his neighbor (15) was his guardian angel and saved his life.

Munich – His guardian angel was particularly careful – and this guardian angel even has a name.

15-year-old Nura saved the life of a neighbor (80) on Tuesday.

The pensioner threatened to fall victim to a fire in his apartment in Pasing*.

The girl intervened courageously - and prevented worse!

Munich resident (15) saves neighbors in need of care: "I knew every minute counts now"

Early Tuesday afternoon, Nura is sitting with her parents in the living room on Fischer-von-Erlach-Strasse in Munich*.

Suddenly she hears a smoke alarm beeping - and is very worried.

They get even bigger when she realizes that the warning signal is coming from her neighbor's apartment.

Because the 80-year-old is in need of care.

Nura calls the fire department*.

Then she runs in front of the door and notices: There's actually smoke coming out of the apartment!

"I knew every minute counts now," she says.

As the student waits for the fire department, she tries to reach the caretaker so that she can get into the neighbor's apartment herself.

But the rescue workers arrive in time.

The 15-year-old instructs the firefighters, shows them the apartment on the first floor of the five-storey building and reports on the pensioner's situation.

The rescuers prepare the extinguishing measures, at the same time a respiratory protection team makes its way into the apartment.

They find the pensioner in need of care lying in his bed.

The firefighters put an escape hood on him: a protective mask with a filter that keeps smoke out.

They then take the man outside and hand him over to the crew of an ambulance.

Anxious minutes pass for Nura: she stands outside all the time.

"I was waiting for a sign of life." That comes: The 80-year-old opens his eyes and moves his hand.

Nura takes a deep breath.

Your neighbor is saved - also thanks to the quick reaction of the 15-year-old.

Your neighbor is in the hospital.

According to the fire department, the reason for the smoke was quickly found: there was a scorched object on the stove.
