It is an intervention that the agents of the anti-crime brigade (BAC) of Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne) are not about to forget.

A particularly sordid news story, worthy of a noir novel, blown to

by a source close to the investigation.

On the night of Saturday to Sunday April 10, three police officers discovered the decomposing body of a woman in the garage of a suburban house in Ivry-sur-Seine.

Alongside the corpse was a man whom the police thought was also dead... But who unexpectedly turned out to be very much alive.

It all starts Saturday night.

It is past midnight when the head of the Ivry police station is visited by a man who gives him a letter.

The latter, aged 44 and who runs a pizza truck at the esplanade Georges Marane, in Ivry, explains that the piece of paper was given to him by a man of Asian origin around 10 p.m.

Written in English, the letter indicates that a woman would be in danger and would need help at 8 rue Descartes, in Ivry.

The missive is immediately taken seriously by the chief of post who warns his colleagues on patrol by radio.

It is a crew of the night BAC composed of three police officers who recovers the alert and goes without waiting to the address indicated.

A white sheet stained with bodily fluids

Plunged into darkness, rue Descartes is silent.

Seen from the outside, nothing suggests any emergency.

With police armbands on their arms, the three officers knock on the door of the pavilion: silence.

They strike again, declining their function: same result.

Intrigued and determined to continue their investigations, they ring the bell at the adjoining houses, but again, no one.

However, at number eight - the address mentioned on the anonymous letter - a faint halo of light emerges from a window.

The police then take advice from the judicial police officer on duty, who immediately gives them the green light to break into the pavilion.

In the meantime, the three men are joined by another BAC workforce.

In silence, mingles the void inside the house.

No occupants, no furniture, no television or even crockery or clothes.

Only a few luggage collected in one room.

The police continue their progress towards the backyard composed of two outbuildings.

From the window of one of them, they distinguish with their flashlights two bodies lying on a bed.

For at least one, that of a woman, death is beyond doubt.

Covered in a white sheet stained with bodily fluids, the face swollen, the corpse is in an advanced state of decomposition.

The second is meanwhile under a quilt that simply reveals the feet, presuming rigor mortis.

Frozen, the police immediately freeze the scene.

In other words, they leave the pavilion which is now a crime scene so as not to pollute the work of the criminal identification technicians (TIC).

But as they leave, the officers notice that the body draped under the blanket has just moved a leg.

Not without difficulties, he is even quickly on his two feet.

The police then invest the place and proceed to the arrest of the one they thought dead - they discover at this moment that it is a man - by making use of an electric pulse pistol (PIE) in deterrent mode.

The criminal thesis dismissed

The arrested does not speak French but the police quickly understand that the corpse at his side is none other than that of his wife.

Mutique, he was immediately taken to the Ivry-sur-Seine police station where he was placed in police custody.

Of Vietnamese nationality, the man said to be 29 years old.

At the same time, the Val-de-Marne criminal brigade travels to rue Descartes as well as the public prosecutor of Créteil to make the first findings.

The victim is quickly identified.

She is a 47-year-old woman of Vietnamese origin.

The autopsy of the body has already made it possible to rule out the criminal trail, the victim having probably died of a heart attack following the ingestion of drugs.

The 29-year-old man was still interviewed by investigators from the Val-de-Marne judicial police at the end of the day on Monday.

A psychological expertise was also expected.

The investigations are continuing.

For the investigators it is a question in particular of knowing who wrote the mysterious anonymous letter.
