After the winter, many vacationers head to sunnier regions at Easter.
But what is the current situation with the Corona rules at popular travel destinations?
An overview.
An old acquaintance is emerging as the top travel destination for Easter 2022: Palma de Mallorca is served 142 times during the holidays from Munich and 87 times from Nuremberg, making it the front-runner among holiday destinations served by plane.
City trips in Europe are generally very popular, but holiday home visitors also enjoy the tranquility of the Baltic and North Seas in Germany or the Netherlands.
It is also a relief that many travel destinations relaxed their Corona requirements before the Easter holidays.
We will show you which rules still apply or no longer apply.
Mallorca/Spain: Corona requirements recently relaxed
"Off to Mallorca" is currently the motto for many German holidaymakers: It is just right that the Spanish government abolished the QR code for entry on April 7th - for everyone who has
the digital Covid certificate of the
can submit to the
EU .
This means that proof of vaccination, convalescence or a test is still required, but there is no longer an obligation to register using the entry form.
From April 20th, the obligation to
wear masks
in restaurants, bars, cinemas and other leisure facilities will no longer apply, according to
Mallorca Magazin
.
Vacation in Italy: Corona emergency ended – but entry rules remain in place
Italy also eased its measures just in time for Easter: the Corona emergency has been over since April 1, so that
2G or 3G credentials are no longer required to access hotels, outdoor areas of restaurants, museums and shops
.
Also in public transport in Italy, the evidence is omitted.
However, there is still a 2G rule in leisure facilities such as cinemas, swimming pools or discos.
There is still an obligation to register online
when entering the country
, and travelers aged six and over must also present 3G proof.
Proof of vaccination that is no more than nine months old, proof of recovery no more than six months old, and a negative test result using a PCR test (no more than 72 hours old) or a rapid antigen test (no more than 48 hours old) are accepted.
"Freedom Day" in the Netherlands - almost all corona rules are no longer applicable
With Amsterdam, the Netherlands offers a popular travel destination for a city trip, but the North Sea is also attractive to holidaymakers.
The entry restrictions were lifted for all EU citizens on March 23. There is only the recommendation to carry out a self-test immediately after arrival and five days later.
A
mask requirement
only applies at the airport and on airplanes; it has been abolished on buses and trains.
Likewise, there are no
2G or 3G rules
for entering restaurants, museums, shops or clubs.
However, operators may independently check evidence.
France remains cautious: these corona rules apply
France has
not relaxed its entry rules since mid-February
.
The following applies to travelers from Germany: Vaccinated people may enter the country without an additional test, unvaccinated people need a PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old or a rapid antigen test that is no more than 48 hours old.
Proof of recovery from at least eleven days and a maximum of six months is also accepted.
If you want to travel within France by national trains, buses and planes, you need at least 2G proof.
Non-essential shops, outdoor pools, sports stadiums or outdoor restaurants are only open with restrictions.
Holidays in Austria: what measures travelers have to take into account
Entry into Austria
is only possible with a
3G
ID
.
The documents must be in German or English.
If you cannot provide proof, you must register for pre-travel clearance.
In addition, a 10-day quarantine applies to those affected.
Since March 24th, there has also been a
general obligation to wear masks in all closed rooms
in Austria - for example in public transport, in restaurants, in accommodation facilities and in all trade.
However, there is no longer a 3G rule for access to hotels or restaurants.
Turkey relaxes corona rules: what still applies now
Turkey also recently relaxed its entry rules – but air travelers are not benefiting from this for the time being.
Anyone entering the country by land or sea no longer needs a 3G certificate
.
However, travelers by air must still present a vaccination, recovery or test certificate.
The entry form, on the other hand, was abolished on March 29.
