The Russian Foreign Ministry announced imposing sanctions on 398 members of the US House of Representatives in response to US sanctions against members of the Russian State Duma.
Russia Today quoted the ministry as saying in a statement, “Restrictions were imposed on 398 members of the US House of Representatives, in response to the wave of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the administration of US President Joe Biden on March 24 against 328 deputies in the Russian State Duma and the inclusion of Russian deputies on the list.” American Black".
The ministry added that these people, including leaders and chairs of House committees in the US Congress, are now on the Russian ban list, along with other current lawmakers on the list who will be banned from entering Russian territory on the basis of reciprocity.
Last March, the White House announced the imposition of new sanctions on Russia against the backdrop of its military operation in Ukraine, affecting 328 members of the Russian State Duma out of the 450 members, in addition to a number of Russian officials and institutions.
