Some around Lapid think that he should have acted to dissolve the government, because according to the coalition agreements, if the government disintegrates through the blame of the right-wing bloc, Lapid automatically becomes prime minister.

But Lapid himself refuses to act on such a possibility and insists on the continued existence of the government.
He believes that it is possible to continue functioning even in a situation of 60-60 in the Knesset.
In his view most laws do not require a majority of 61 but a simple majority.

Meanwhile, yesterday (Tuesday), the chairmen of the coalition factions met for the first time without the chairman of the coalition, Idit Silman, for a working meeting in which they agreed on continued coordinated and joint work ahead of the upcoming summer session.
