A fire broke out in Tai Kok Tsui.
At around 11:10 p.m., a tenement building from 8 to 10A, Bowen Street, was reported to have smoked and caught fire at the rooftop. During this period, a loud explosion was heard, and many neighbors heard the news and reported it on their behalf.
After receiving the report, the fire department dispatched two teams of smoke caps, climbed the building and opened the throat for rescue; and dispatched a search and evacuation team to assist the residents of the above site to escape to a safe location. About 40 residents of the building at the scene had to be evacuated, and together with the nearby buildings, there were about 100 people. It is necessary to evacuate to the ground, and the police will close the entire Bowen Street for rescue.
The fire was largely put out at 11:41.
It is understood that during the firefighting, at least three firefighters suffered injuries to their hands and were suspected of being burned. They must board an ambulance and be assisted by the ambulance.
Firefighters are investigating whether the cause of the fire is suspicious.
After learning about the incident, many Tai Kok Tsui neighbors left messages on the "Neighborhood Group" on social media: "It's so loud," "Thinking of it as a thunderbolt," and "It's so big."
At the same time, the live fire alarm was photographed, and it can be seen that the fire was quite violent.
There was also a message from a neighbor saying, "I was watching from the opposite side. I don't think there was a sudden explosion. There were firefighters nearby. It was really frightening."
