The GSS, the IDF and the IDF today (Wednesday) arrested Maad Hamed, 33, a Hamas operative who was a member of the terrorist cell that murdered the late Malachi Rosenfeld seven years ago and wounded three others.
Hamed has been imprisoned by the Palestinian security forces since the attack that took place near the settlement of Kida.
During the day, the GSS received information indicating that Maad had escaped arrest in the PA.
According to the suspicion, the purpose of Hamed's escape was to promote a terrorist attack against Israeli targets in the immediate term.
Upon learning of his escape, the GSS led an operation aimed at arresting him in Israel.
After a few hours, Maad was arrested in the village of Kubar.
Eliezer Rosenfeld, Malachi's father, said that "it will not bring back our dear and beloved Malachi, but whoever takes a life must reason in prison for the rest of his life."
Rozfeld said he received a phone call from IDF representatives, who updated him on the terrorist's arrest and added that for the family "this is closing the circle and excitement that more murders have been avoided."
