Thousands of pelicans came to the sick reedbed and were greeted by dozens of flamingos staying in the reedbed for the past few days, in a beautiful, rare courtship display in our counties, and even the storks were impressed and joined.
The Hula Reed is one of the most important moist habitats in Israel and along the bird migration axis.
It is a critical stopping point for pelicans migrating between the African continent and Europe, both in terms of the richness of food it offers to a variety of species and in terms of a safe haven for birds during the long journey.
