Damascus, SANA- The Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers of the Ministry of Education today launched its second course for non-native speakers

The Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers of the Ministry of Education launched today its second course for students of the Arabic Studies Department at the University of Tokyo for the intermediate level (virtual), in cooperation with the Syrian Embassy in Japan.

The institute had launched its first courses at the advanced level on the sixth of October last year and continued until mid-January of this year, according to the director of the institute, Nojoud Atallah.

Atallah indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that these courses were widely appreciated by the students who were able to make remarkable progress in the Arabic language after the course ended.

Atallah explained that the new course includes thirteen lectures dealing with topics on “Syria, the Syrian economy, traditional Syrian industries, ancient baths in Damascus, Syrian food, cafés, customs and traditions, Syrian holidays, the diaries of a tourist in Syria, Palmyra and its queen Zenobia and the poet Nizar Qabbani.”
