The Russian Foreign Ministry today asked the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to report on the nature of the mission's use of the remaining special technical monitoring equipment in Ukraine.
"The OSCE leadership is obliged to provide a frank report on how the organization's equipment remaining on the territory of Ukraine and the People's Republics of Lugansk and Donetsk is used," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement on the ministry's website.
Confirmation of information about the use of the organization’s technical monitoring means to control the artillery fire of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will lead to a discredit both for the mission and the leadership of the General Secretariat of the organization in Europe and all those who covered them all, and then the role of the organization will become completely different from what is stated in this case.
"The OSCE leadership has repeatedly assured us that the mission does not transmit any operational information to Kyiv, since these data received from these devices were aimed at monitoring the ceasefire regime and agreements on the withdrawal of military equipment," Zakharova added.
It is noteworthy that the OSCE Monitoring Mission worked for eight years on both sides of the line of communication in Donbass, using various technical means and equipment, including small, medium and long-range drones, various types of cameras, and others.
