Countries are after Russian assets sanctioned in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine that began in February.

Since then, thousands of Russians have been sanctioned by the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom, among others.

Authorities in Italy, France, Spain, the UK and Gibraltar have already seized or frozen multi-million dollar superyachts and properties.

The US also implemented KleptoCapture, a task force focused on sanctions violators and seizing their assets.


Here is the latest in seizures and location of the properties of the sanctioned Russians outside Russia.

Except Igor Sechin and Sergei Chemezov, no other oligarch mentioned in this story responded to requests for comment from CNN.

Authorities in Spain have seized a superyacht called "Tango," which they say is owned by Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg in Mallorca, according to a statement from Spain's Guardia Civil.

The seizure of the yacht was part of an operation with US federal agents and was carried out through a Spanish court order, according to the statement.

Vekselberg heads the Russian investment company Renova Group.
