Venus Khoury-Ghata crowned for her life's work

Since its launch in 2007, the Robert Ganzo Prize has been awarded annually in Saint-Malo, by a jury of writers, on the occasion of the “Amazing Travelers” international book and film festival.

The poet will also be present at the Swedish Institute, in Paris, on April 21, with Jila Mossaed, winner of the previous edition.

Endowed with an amount of 10,000 euros (the highest endowment for a poetry prize), this award distinguishes, for a collection or all of their work, authors of poetry

"in touch with the movement of the world, far the closed field of formalist laboratories and postmodern affectations.

A prestigious jury

Venus Khoury-Ghata was chosen by a prestigious jury.

Chaired by Alain Borer, it is made up of Yvon Le Men, Jean-Baptiste Para, Dominique Sampiero, Jean-Pierre Siméon and Claudine Delaunay.

Vénus Khoury-Ghata is part of an incredible list of winners including, among others, Christian Bobin, René Depestre, Jean-Pierre Verheggen, Franck Venaille, Valérie Rouzeau...

Remember that the prize was created by the Robert Ganzo Foundation under the aegis of the Fondation de France.

Alternately bookseller, bookseller, author, resistance fighter, archaeologist, painter and sailor, Robert Ganzo (1898-1995), who was a friend of André Breton and Paul Eluard, produced a rich body of work of great formal purity. , reflecting the intensity of his life and celebrating the beauty of the world.
