Venus Khoury-Ghata crowned for her life's work

She didn't need this prize for people to know that she is one of the greatest poets, but it's always a pleasure to have the recognition of the republic of letters: after the Goncourt of poetry in 2011 and the Grand Prize for Poetry from the French Academy in 2009, and so many others, Vénus-Khoury-Ghata has just received the Robert Ganzo Poetry Prize which rewards a major French-speaking author.

Since its launch in 2007, the Robert Ganzo Prize has been awarded annually in Saint-Malo, by a jury of writers, on the occasion of the “Amazing Travelers” international book and film festival.

The poet will also be present at the Swedish Institute, in Paris, on April 21, with Jila Mossaed, winner of the previous edition.

Endowed with an amount of 10,000 euros (the highest endowment for a poetry prize), this award distinguishes, for a collection or all of their work, authors of poetry

A prestigious jury

Venus Khoury-Ghata was chosen by a prestigious jury.

Chaired by Alain Borer, it is made up of Yvon Le Men, Jean-Baptiste Para, Dominique Sampiero, Jean-Pierre Siméon and Claudine Delaunay.

Remember that the prize was created by the Robert Ganzo Foundation under the aegis of the Fondation de France.

Alternately bookseller, bookseller, author, resistance fighter, archaeologist, painter and sailor, Robert Ganzo (1898-1995), who was a friend of André Breton and Paul Eluard, produced a rich body of work of great formal purity. , reflecting the intensity of his life and celebrating the beauty of the world.
