And the glory of the East begins with Damascus..A documentary art exhibition in the cultural Suwayda

The art exhibition hosted by the Cultural Center in the city of Suwayda included paintings representing designs for the logos of the faculties of the Damascus University branch in Suwayda, in addition to posters for a number of archaeological sites and monuments in Syria, and the directory of the Damascus University branch, which was recently completed.

The exhibition came as a joint initiative of the Damascus University branch in As-Suwayda, the (Love and Loyalty) initiative, and the Aram Forum for Culture and Arts within the celebrations of the evacuation holiday.

The head of the Damascus University branch in As-Suwayda, Dr. Khaled Kiwan, pointed out in his speech to the importance of the exhibition in highlighting the Syrian antiquities that represent our roots, land, identity and history, and choosing a title for it that confirms the civilized role of Damascus throughout history and our country in general as the home of the alphabet, the land of human civilizations and the cradle of monotheistic religions.

In turn, the lecture at the Second College of Fine Arts in Sweida, the plastic artist, Faten Al-Maghrabi, gave a brief presentation on the illustrated guide to the faculties of the Damascus University branch in Sweida, which she designed.

Al-Maghraby also explained to the posters the slogans of the colleges included in the exhibition, where she designed six of them, while the students of the Second College of Fine Arts implemented two logos for the Colleges of Arts, Humanities and Mechanical Engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Khaled Kiwan and Dr. Sonia Alam El Din.

For her part, Faryal Al-Saleem, responsible for the “Love and Loyalty” initiative, pointed out the importance of partnership between the university and civil society in holding the exhibition, which sheds light on art as one of the most important aspects of civilized human activity and expresses the desire of the Syrian person to be creative.

The exhibition included honoring the participants in the completion of the directory of the Damascus University branch in As-Suwayda and posters representing the faculties of the university branch and a number of civil bodies contributing to providing support for the branch's work.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the deans of the faculties of the Damascus University branch in Sweida and a number of stakeholders.
